Committed to Ending Poverty
Culture & Cost of Poverty
Most communities in the United States are immersed in managing poverty rather than alleviating it. Government and community-based programs typically operate in silos and produce only random and unreliable results, keeping poverty rates high and stagnant over the decades. Poverty management systems are not accountable to reducing poverty rates. Therefore, they generate unintended system barriers and service gaps that keep people stuck in poverty.
The
Poverty
Solution
System
Pioneer communities are working with Circles USA to transform the way they address poverty. A poverty solution system creates teams that are highly accountable to supporting people through all five stages of moving out of poverty. The system barriers and service gaps that are identified by the teams are given to a collective impact team to solve.

How it works

Set SMARTER Goals
Communities start by committing to reducing poverty rate by 10%, this is a known change rate. This can help 100 families, 500 families or 1000 families to begin to reduce the poverty rate.

Redirect Existing
Resources
Determine how to redirect the existing resources to move these families out of poverty.

Ignite Volunteer
Superpowers!
Recruit and train a large group of volunteers with high “poverty IQs” to support people out of poverty.

Build a New System
Move the resources from poverty management to poverty alleviation.
